Ballinger Bearcats Named US Army Values School of the Week after Thrilling Win

BALLINGER, TX-- The Ballinger Bearcats had to work hard for a win in their season opener against the Brady Bulldogs.

The Bearcats were able to pull out a 20-19 result in overtime.

That work was noticed statewide.

On Tuesday, Ballinger was named the Class 3A U.S. Army Values Team of the Week by Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

Each week, the famed publication, dubbed "The Bible of Texas Football," selects a team of the week for all six classifications of football in Texas.

In addition to Ballinger, week 1 winners were:

  • 6A: Waxahachie
  • 5A: Somerset
  • 4A: Center
  • 2A: La Pryor
  • 1A: Vernon Northside

Ballinger hosts Reagan County this Friday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
