SAN ANGELO, TX-- Year two of the Hector Guevara era at Lake View begins with a lot of upside as they drop down to Class 4A Division I.
The Chiefs return half of their 22 starters from last year and a balanced schedule with a four-team district could mean good things on the north side.
District 2-4A Division I
This district is very wide open, even with regional powers Andrews and Seminole.
Both of those programs lost a big chunk of their teams by graduating 50 of their combined 73 lettermen. That could open the door to some surprising results and maybe even some upsets.
However, they are both programs filled with tradition. It’s likely they will replace those players who left.
The Chiefs should be expected to compete with these teams by the time district play rolls around. Time will tell if the Chiefs have made those strides to make those upsets and challenge for a top spot.
Big Spring returns a large group from last year’s winless season and that experience from 20 returning lettermen will be a big help in this wide open district.
