Permian Head Coach Resigns Three Weeks Before Practice Starts

ODESSA, TX-- Odessa Permian Head Coach Blake Feldt has resigned from his post at Permian today, according to Matt Stepp of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

Feldt resigned in order to take the vacant Athletic Director spot at Midland ISD, according to Stepp.

Feldt had been the Panther’s head coach since 2013 and posted a 38-18 record.

During those five seasons, Mojo made three trips to the playoffs and only had one losing season in that time.

Feldt is a Midland native, graduating from Midland High before playing and coaching at Texas Tech.

In 1998, Feldt returned to his home and the high school ranks as an assistant before moving on to Breckenridge and Pilot Point prior to the Permian job.

There has been no word yet on who will replace Feldt at Permian.
