KILLEEN, TX-- The Central Bobcats picked up a crucial 5-2 win on the road against Harker Heights in District 8-6A action on Tuesday.
Rance Rosas threw a complete game where he allowed the two runs on two hits with five strikeouts to get the win.
The Bobcats opened the scoring with a four-run third inning highlighted by a two-run double by Cole Nelson. The Knights scored a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 4-1 Central.
Nelson finished with a team-leading two RBIs in his 1-for-3 performance.
Rosas helped his own cause by tallying an RBI on a bases loaded walk in the sixth inning.
Harker Heights could only tally one run in the bottom of the seventh before a pop-out ended the game.
With the win and three games left, Central (11-18, 6-5) needs two wins to clinch a playoff berth. The Bobcats will look to sweep the series against Harker Heights at home on Friday at 6 p.m.
