MASON, TX-- Mason's Jesse Armstrong was lights out in the circle guiding the Cowgirls to a 10-0 run-rule, no-hit win over the Miles Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls allowed four baserunners in the game.
Armstrong, in five innings pitched, allowed one walk to Miles' Tinker Granzin while the Cowgirls' defense committed three errors.
Mason's Alana Evans was the offensive dynamo for the Cowgirls by going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and a run scored. Bridgit Herrington was the only other Cowgirl to register a multi-hit game with her 2-for-3, one RBI performance.
Tycie Lange got the loss in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs in three innings of work where she allowed eight runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks on her ledger.
Megan McAda came on for an inning of relief for Lange where she surrendered two runs on two hits.
Mason (10-4, 8-0) now moves to a two-and-a-half game lead in first place over the Lady Bulldogs (11-6, 5-2).
Miles will host Ozona in Miles on Thursday, April 12, at 5 p.m. while Mason will host Eldorado with a chance to clinch the District 5-2A crown on Friday, April 13, at 5 p.m.
