Murrell Sends Central Home Happy with Walk-Off Against Copperas Cove

SAN ANGELO, TX-- In a back-and-forth affair, the Central Bobcats walked off the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs 10-9 at Donsky Field on Tuesday.

Bryson Murrell was the hero for the Bobcats with an RBI, walk-off triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the crucial district win.

Copperas Cove took an early 1-0 lead in the first when Colby Jost wore a pitch from Central's Jonathan Limon with the bases loaded.

The Bobcats would double that in the bottom of the inning with a pair of RBI singles from Hayden Stevens and Oscar Nino to take a 2-1 lead after one inning.

Copperas Cove plated two in the top of the second to take a 4-2 lead. The Bobcats plated four in their half of the second inning with Rance Rosas driving in a run on a bases loaded walk, Blake Mikeska scoring on an error and a two-run fielder's choice by Stevens to make it 6-4 Central after two.

The Bulldawgs tied the game at six in the third. The teams extended the scoring to seven runs apiece after five innings and matched blows by each scoring two runs in the sixth to make it nine-all.

Rosas, who came on in relief of Limon, worked a 1-2-3 seventh frame. Kobe Taborsky worked a leadoff single with Murrell coming up. Murrell worked an eight pitch at-bat before lacing a triple through the Dawg outfield to score Taborsky.

Rosas was credited with the win after four-and-two-thirds innings of relief in which he allowed three runs on five hits with one strikeout. Limon struck out five in his three-and-a-third innings of work.

The Bobcats (11-15, 5-2) currently sit in third behind Belton and will look to complete the season sweep of Copperas Cove on the road this Friday at 6 p.m.
