SAN ANGELO, TX-- Despite a hot start, the Central Runnin' Cats were unable to best Waco Midway in a 86-76 loss Tuesday night.
Central jumped out to a 24-18 lead in the first quarter with Deveraux Minix and Durriell Taylor leading the charge with a pair of three-pointers each.
However, the Midway Panthers would silence Central by outscoring the Cats 31-7 in the second quarter to take a 49-31 lead into halftime.
Midway never looked back after that. However, the Cats did make a couple of 8-0 runs in the second half to narrow the lead to single digits.
Taylor led Central is scoring with 26 points. Michael Bonner had 14 and Minix finished with 13.
Central falls to 9-21 this season with a 2-10 record in District 8-6A. The Bobcats will be on the road this Friday to face Killeen Shoemaker in their final road game of the season.
