SAISD Meets With Coach's Accusers; Parents Unhappy

SAN ANGELO, TX-- On Thursday the San Angelo Independent School District met with parents who claimed Central Bobcat Head Basketball Coach Dustin Faught acted improperly over the weekend.

SAISD Director of Communications Derrick Jackson confirmed the meeting took place, but no information about the meeting was released by the school district.

"This meeting was conducted as a follow-up from a concern regarding an athletic program that we received earlier this week," Jackson said in a statement.

A parent who is close to the situation reached out to San Angelo LIVE! to express their displeasure with the meeting.

"I am rallying other witnesses to come forward," the parent said in a Facebook message. "After a disappointing meeting with SAISD officials today, at their initiative, we are in the process of filing formal grievances with SAISD Human Resources."

The parent would go on to say that SAISD recommended a behind-closed-doors apology from Coach Faught to the youth league coach.

The youth league coach was reportedly at the meeting and picked up paperwork to file an official grievance with the district immediately following the meeting.

Coach Faught was placed on paid administrative leave on Monday. Assistant Coach Stephen Londerholm assumed head coaching duties for the Bobcats in their 64-51 district loss to Belton on Tuesday. There is no word from SAISD on Coach Faught's job status.

The Bobcats travel to Waco on Friday to play Midway High School in district 8-6A play.
