SAN ANGELO, TX-- The San Angelo Central Bobcats' historic, 11-1 season ended on Black Friday.
It's almost Christmas and the Angry Orange is still receiving praise.
The Texas 6A Associated Press Sports Editor All-State team was released on Thursday with four Bobcats cracking the list, all of which fell in the Honorable Mention Team.
Gunner Couch, a senior offensive lineman, made the list after a season in which he provided protection for an offense that racked up over 5,000 yards of total offense.
Senior receiver Henry Teeter was the lone receiver to make the list for Central. Teeter tallied 1,390 yards on 102 catches. The 102 catches by Teeter is a school record. Teeter is garnering interest from multiple schools, including Ivy League school Columbia.
Of eight quarterbacks on the Honorable Mention team, junior Maverick McIvor was one of them. McIvor stormed onto the scene in his first year as the starting quarterback for the Bobcats with 3,371 passing yards, 883 rushing yards, and 51 touchdowns.
The only defensive player to receive honors for Central was defensive back Gage Smith. The senior led a stout defense in interceptions with five.
