The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly From Week 2 of High School Football

SAN ANGELO, TX—Week two of the Texas High School Football Season brought the full spectrum of emotions from bad beats to emotional victories. We'll take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly from week two games in the region.

Let's start off on a good note.

The Good: TLCA gets win number one

The Texas Leadership Charter Academy defeated Bronte 42-6 on Friday night. The matchup saw new TLCA coach Brent Rider defeat his previous employer. The win was also snapped a 12 game losing streak that dated back to 2015. The Eagles were helped out by a 21-point second quarter and three quarters of shutout defense in their win over Bronte.

The Bad: Colorado City and Crane combine for 10 points.

While we were not reporting this game in Crane, the 8-2 victory for the Colorado High School produced one of the strangest scorelines you'll see all season. This game featured no offense whatsoever.

The Ugly: Christoval losing streak moves to three. Irion County outclassed by Reagan County

Christoval lost two games during all of the 2016 season. Their 47-12 loss to Junction on Friday night equaled the Cougars' loss total from a year ago. The team that handed Christoval their first loss of 2017, Irion County, was beat badly on Friday night. Reagan County walloped Irion County 58-8, bringing questions to the table: Is Christoval on a down year? Was Irion County's win in week one a fluke?

See what I'm saying... Even the newspaper finds that there is noting worth reporting about Lake View's continued community embarrassment. Shut the program down and save us tax payers a ton of school tax monies...........

A rebuilding year in the works for Christoval. Injuries, freshman quarterback etc. they are playing their hearts out, but all years can't be winning years especially in small towns.
