SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Southwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America along with the Coralina Ranch are presenting the Marksman Shootout on April 29, 2017 at Camp Sol Mayer at 299 Camp Sol Mayer Road in Fort McKavett.
The Marksman Shootout is a new shooting competition for those who enjoy target shooting and want to help raise money for the Boy Scouts. We are proud to host this fundraising event, which is designed for all skill levels. Marksman for their rifle class will be categorized based on their scope and ability as well as the number of registrations.
Target shooters will be able to compete for bragging rights and named as Top Marksman. All individual shooters will take 17 shots aiming at targets at five distances: 100 yards, 200 yards, 300 yards, 400 yards, and 500 yards either in the prone, bench or desired position.
The cost is $100 dollars per shooter. Proceeds from this event are used to support Scouting in the area and our Taste of Adventure shooting sports program teaching youth and giving rifle, shotgun, and archery shooting opportunities at Camp Sol Mayer. The Texas Southwest Council’s commitment to making sure that all young people have an opportunity to learn the lifelong skill of shooting.
Lunch is provided and there will be an auction to close the fun filled event full of shooting and comradery for a great cause.
