Chicken Farm Art Center to Spotlight Wellness at First Saturday Market

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Chicken Farm Art Center will feature health and wellness as part of its First Saturday Art Market on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The monthly market, which combines art, food and community activities, will take on a “Healthy Harvest” theme this month. Organizers said visitors can expect wellness vendors, health demonstrations and special activities in addition to the usual lineup of artists and food trucks.

Wellness Showcase

  • Good Movement Gravity Pilates will offer demonstrations every 30 minutes beginning at 1 p.m. “All of our workouts are suitable for any level, fitness level, and any age,” said owner Raquel. The studio specializes in reformer and mat Pilates.

  • Hera Health, a women’s health clinic led by nurse practitioner Megan, will host talks at 11 a.m. and noon on perimenopause and weight loss. “My consultations are an hour and a half long, so I go pretty in depth,” she said, noting her focus is on holistic and personalized wellness.

  • Additional vendors include HOTWORXWest Texas Counseling & GuidanceSouth Concho Food Co., and Maximus Nutrition.

Wellness professionals who attend are encouraged to bring an ID or business card for potential discounts from participating vendors.

Local restaurant Roots at The Silo is contributing with a featured “Trim & Tasty Toast” brunch item topped with avocado, egg, ham and tomato.

A series of art classes are scheduled throughout the month, including:

  • Dreamcatcher Make & Mingle with Sylvia Perez on Oct. 9

  • Bob Ross Painting Party on Oct. 10

  • Bright Sugar Skull painting on Oct. 11

  • Learn to Paint en Plein Air with Crystal Goodman on Oct. 11

  • Mystic Waterfall painting class on Oct. 17

  • Cozy Fall Pumpkins painting class on Oct. 25

  • Kaleido-Lab stained glass workshops throughout the month

Kid’s Coop Spotlight

The Homeschool Kid’s Coop at the Chicken Farm recently filled all its fall spots within 24 hours, according to the newsletter. Enrollment for spring 2026 will open soon. Teens and high school students can earn community service hours by volunteering with the program.

Upcoming Markets

The Fitness & Wellness Friday Night Market will return on Oct. 17 from 5–9 p.m., also featuring live music and health vendors.

The Chicken Farm’s 54th Annual Open House Holiday Market is scheduled for Nov. 28–29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature shopping, live music, and holiday treats.

Organizers said the First Saturday Art Market is free and open to the public. “Even if you arrive after a session begins, you’re still welcome to walk up, join in, and ask questions,” event hosts said.
