Ram Jam Brings Free Food, Music and Tailgating to Every ASU Home Game

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University’s popular Ram Jam tailgate returns for all five home football games this season, offering free food, live music and family activities for the community.

The event, coordinated by Jennifer Corder, ASU’s Membership and Alumni Events Coordinator, runs from 3 to 5 p.m. on game days, with tailgating spots open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Le Grand Alumni and Visitors Center.

“It’s a big, family-friendly event, and we want to hang out with you,” Corder said.

Ram Jam is open to the public at no cost, and attendees do not need to be alumni. Community members can enjoy free hot dogs, a live performance starting at 3 p.m., baked goods, grilled meats and other offerings from local tailgaters. The ASU band closes the event by leading fans into the stadium for kickoff.

This season’s schedule includes the Sept. 6 home opener, Family Day on Sept. 20, and Homecoming on Oct. 18. Tailgate spot reservations are free and can be made by contacting Corder at 325-942-2122 or visiting the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Corder said some tailgaters go all out, with racks of ribs, bacon-wrapped jalapeños, and other homemade specialties. “People just want to feed you,” she said.
