Alta Loma Elementary Being Demolished as Part of SAISD Consolidation

SAN ANGELO, TX – Crews have begun demolishing Alta Loma Elementary as part of San Angelo ISD’s school consolidation plan.

The SAISD board of trustees voted 6-1 in early 2023 to merge Alta Loma with Fannin Elementary. The decision was part of a district-wide effort to optimize resources and address infrastructure concerns.

The consolidation plan, which was set to take full effect in the 2024-2025 school year, aims to reduce operational costs while maintaining staff positions. Students from Alta Loma transitioned to Fannin.
