The Philanthropist

SAN ANGELO, TX — In this insightful video interview, Terry Mikeska, a San Angelo native and the founder of both the Eva Tucker Foundation and the Terry Mikeska Foundation, shares his journey in philanthropy, both locally and internationally. Terry's story begins in Wall, where he embarked on his career immediately after high school, joining American Airlines as a gate attendant at San Angelo’s Mathis Field. This role opened doors to the elite circles of San Angelo, leading to his pivotal position as aide-de-camp to the late Eva Tucker.

Under Ms. Tucker's guidance, Terry learned the essence of serving others. Following her passing, he dedicated himself to realizing her vision for the Tucker endowment. Alongside his philanthropic endeavors, Terry ventured into the business world, launching and contributing to various successful enterprises, including the annual West Texas Bridal Showcase and San Angelo Limousine. He also managed the Holcomb-Blanton Print Shop, which once stood where the Zero One Ale House is located today.

A significant turning point in Terry's philanthropic career came when he established his own foundation. Over the past seven years, he has significantly impacted lives in Nepal, starting with a serendipitous online conversation with a Nepalese family affected by a devastating earthquake. His initial efforts involved large-scale rice bowl distributions to aid local families. Throughout the interview, Terry shares anecdotes and experiences from his life in San Angelo and abroad, highlighting his encounters with remarkable individuals and his contributions to communities worldwide."
