WATCH: Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Swears in new Operations Lieutenant

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office got a new Operations Lieutenant after he was sworn in on Tuesday morning. 

Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, Burleigh Locklar was sworn in as the Operations Lieutenant for the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard.

Locklar has over 30 years of law enforcement experience with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command as well as the Governor's Center for Management Development.

His service to our state included eight years as a Lieutenant in the Motor Vehicle Theft Service, five years as a Texas Ranger, and most recently as a Lieutenant in the Texas Ranger Division over the Special Operations Group-Border Security for three JOIC (Joint Operations Intelligence Centers) to include El Paso, Marfa, and Del Rio.

Locklar is a certified hostage negotiator,  firearms instructor  and armorer. Lt. Locklar will be sworn in by Judge Eddie Howard during a ceremony at the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office.
