Black Jesus

SAN ANGELO, TX -- It was the tweet last week from Black Lives Matter Activist Shaun King that sent shockwaves among Christians. King demanded that the statues of white European Jesus should all come down because they are a form of white supremacy.

King who has 1.2 million followers on twitter has experienced plenty of backlash since then, but his reference to white Jesus and white supremacy also gained plenty of support in his social media comment threads.

Locally, Bishop Michael J. Sis of the Catholic Diocese of San Angelo addressed King's comments while offering a few words for those who are aligning Jesus with white supremacy. Watch the video above for the entire story.

Where’s the screenshot of what he said? I googled “Black Jesus” and found no reference to this. Please add more sources so we can make informed decisions. Look at all of Trumps quoted tweets, they are linked and screenshotted so we can read them at least. This article is currently your word. We need facts.maybe the article here isn’t fully finished yet? Why pick this topic to report on. Sounds like you’re trying to stir up white west Texans. There are dozens of other positive, great black lives matter events you could have reported on.

What is the point? If someone believes the color of our Lord Jesus makes any difference at all, then that person has severely missed the mark on the whole point of Christianity.

2 Corinthians 5:15:
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

And, please San Angelo Live, refrain from promoting this type of race baiting, division driven narrative that only further divides our community, our country and more importantly our Church.

...of course Jesus wasn't white. I'm sure this has been hashed and rehashed and is common knowledge to everyone by now. Does it really matter what color the guy was? DOES IT?? Muhammed was a pedophile, Buddha was a glutton, and Jesus was middle eastern. Separation of church and state means that THIS ISNT A POLITICAL ISSUE NOR IS IT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT TO "FIX". Don't like white Jesus? Dont go to white Jesus churches. Done. Fixed. Problem solved. Freakin whiny babies...

.. and the movers and shakers within the Judeo-Christian movement know this.

If we're to entertain the possibility of there ever being a guy named Jesus, living in and around the Middle East a few thousand years ago, chances are he didn't look like Fabio, rather resembled something more like Osama Bin Laden.

I place myself in the shoes of your average WASP or other devout church attendee, and I'd have to admit I feel more comfortable thinking about Fabio observing me from the heavens, making sure I'm not touching myself or checking out (Free Man) Nate's wife.

Religious and Biblical revisionism works, and though I have no dog on either side of this fight, I'm afraid it's here to stay.

In one fell swoop, you disrespect both of our wives in a rant, unprovoked.

Are you okay Lares? Starting up old crap when it ended so well isn't very becoming of a charming, suave Chicano with a college education.

I've had many wives, but I've never been married, nor am I married now. My girlfriend's husband can attest to this.

The BLM movement getting riled up over likely fictional and at best a strung together bunch of second third fourth hand myths. (Sorry for the run on sentince)

IF jesus existed, who the hell knows what colour he was?
