WATCH: Protests Come to San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Following the tragic death of Houston native George Floyd in Minnesota after being handcuffed and kneed in the neck by a Minneapolis police officer, thousands across America have protested in his memory.

San Angelo joined the many cities across the country on Sunday evening to protest but unlike Texas cities like San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin protesters in San Angelo took to the streets without rioting.

Watch as protesters started from the Bosque in downtown San Angelo and peacefully marched to city hall. Protestors chanted, shared messages, and even laid on the pavement for 8 minutes in honor of George Floyd.

Ive lived here almost all my life. I am one that promises this!
I do not agree with a cop killing anyone intentionally. Of ANY race, but I will not stand around and let ignorance and retaliation tear up my city either!
It will stay peaceful in San Angelo.
