Giving Back To The Frontline

SAN ANGELO, TX – The mental, physical, and emotional strain of dealing with a pandemic are issues first responders are dealing with daily. To give back to those who risk their lives every day, Old Central Firehouse is partnering with City National Bank to offer first responders free pizzas on Thursday, April 9 starting at 11:00 a.m.

“It means such a great deal to us just to be able to give back to these people who every day have to leave their loved ones to go possibly get infected with something that is fairly new to us,” said Michele Babiash. “These are people that we need, that we rely on.”

For Jody and Michele Babiash supporting first responders means supporting members of their own family. They understand firsthand the sacrifices first responders and their families make for the sake of the community.

“We love our first responders. Jody is a pilot at AirMed and our son in law is a police officer.”

A few years ago, Jody and Michele undertook the task of renovating the old firehouse into a unique and welcoming bed and brew. After completing their first project the couple decided to open a pizzeria and taproom for guests and members of the community.

The Babiash’s hope to open their doors soon to the public and are currently offering pizzas to-go.

“Prior to the coronavirus, we had planned on opening the second or third week in April. We are moving forward and by the time this is over we will be done and ready to open.”

The pizzas are unique and cooked in a new state-of-the-art oven. Ordering information can be found on their official Facebook page.
