San Angelo ISD Board to Review Safety Audit, School Improvement Today

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. today at the district Administration Building to review findings from a Texas Education Agency intruder detection audit, conduct a public hearing on school improvement, and discuss student transfer guidelines.

The meeting is scheduled for the board room at 1621 University Ave. It will open with a call to order, the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. and Texas flags, and public comment. Trustees will then enter closed session under the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Agenda items include a safety and security update and consultation with the board’s attorney regarding school improvement and related implications and actions.

In open session, the board will receive reports that include a summary of findings from a TEA Intruder Detection Audit conducted by Education Service Center staff.

Specific audit details are typically treated as confidential under state law for security reasons. Other reports cover a first reading of a grievance local policy update and a discussion of student transfer guidelines, along with a public hearing on school improvement.

The board will also review the proposed agenda for its Oct. 19 regular meeting.
