National Night Out Set for Tuesday in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The city will host National Night Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 609 S. Oakes St.

The free public event is part of an annual campaign meant to build partnerships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve, strengthen relationships, build trust, and improve public safety, according to National Night Out's website. 

Residents are encouraged to bring family members, meet neighbors and talk with officers who work in San Angelo. Organizers have said attendees can also meet first responders, look at police vehicles and equipment, and take part in food, giveaways and family activities. 

The San Angelo Police Department is hosting the event with partner agencies.

National Night Out is a nationwide program that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood crime-prevention efforts, information states.
