SAN ANGELO, TX -- Angelo State University's Mayer Museum will host its first "Night at the Museum" program of the fall on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the Mayer Museum at 2501 W. Ave. N.
Night at the Museum will run from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to community members of all ages. For this installment, the museum will join with the ASU Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS) to celebrate Dia de los Muertos.
Activities with specific run times will include:
- 5-6 p.m. - DIY Sugar Skulls with ASU Spanish Club
- 5-6:30 p.m. - ASU American Chemical Society Activities Table
- 5-7 p.m. - Math Games & More with ASU Math for Elementary Teachers group
- 5:30 p.m. - ASU Mariachi Los Pastores performance
Other family-friendly and educational activities scheduled throughout the evening include:
- Community Ofrenda Display curated by AMAS
- STEM Projects with ASU Tri-Beta biology honor society
- Virtual Reality Activities with the College of Science and Engineering
Community members are also encouraged to join with ASU students, faculty and staff to bring pictures to leave at the Ofrenda Display until Nov. 3.
Subsequent ASU Night at the Museum events will be offered on Tuesdays, Nov. 3 and Dec. 1.
