San Angelo Fire Marshal Releases Info on Recent Structure Fires

The office also released information on an Aug. 10 structure fire at 1016 E. 23rd St. that was previously reported. Responders were dispatched at 9:08 a.m. The rear of the structure was partially involved upon arrival and the fire was contained there. A total of 21 firefighters and nine units were on scene. There were no injuries and partial structural damage. That incident is also under investigation.

Separately, firefighters responded at about 12:40 p.m. Thursday to a house fire in the 3000 block of Travis Street in north San Angelo. Smoke was seen billowing from the home as crews extinguished the flames. Five fire trucks and two ambulances were on scene, along with power line workers. Two nearby residences temporarily lost electricity, according to AEP. It was unclear whether anyone was injured. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.

Another fire was also reported this week at the Rio Concho Manor on Aug. 12. This fire was reportedly a stove fire that ultimately led to the fire suppression system being activated on the fourth floor. Residents were evacuated, but no injuries were reported.
