Chadbourne Street Section Set to Open by Aug. 21

SAN ANGELO, TX — Construction continues on Chadbourne Street, with main lanes between Harris and College Avenues set to be poured starting at 3 a.m. Aug. 17-18 and expected to open to northbound traffic by Aug. 21, the City of San Angelo said.

All businesses in the area remain open, and the city encouraged continued support for them during the work.

In the Harris to College section, main sidewalks, parking and the median are complete, along with sidewalks and landings on the northeast and northwest corners of the Harris intersection. Temporary lane striping will be used until final striping is installed after the Harris intersection is finished.

Work at the Harris intersection began early on Aug. 12 and is expected to take about six weeks. Blaine’s driveway will be closed Aug. 17-21.

Between Beauregard and Harris, fencing has been installed. Street lighting is scheduled for manufacture in October, with installation in the weeks following. Temporary striping will allow this section to open soon.

Work at the College intersection is set to begin soon. Traffic will have full access from the south up to College, and notices to property owners will go out next week.

The city said it will continue sharing updates, including access routes, as work progresses.
