SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD is inviting all families to the third annual San Angelo READS! & United We Read Back-to-School Pop-Up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the First Financial Pavilion.
The free, family-friendly event celebrates literacy and helps students prepare for the school year with supplies, services and resources. It is open to families regardless of where their children attend school. No registration is required.
Organizers said the pop-up has grown into one of the community’s largest back-to-school outreach events. Last year, more than 1,200 people attended and connected with nearly 95 community partners. More than 90 partners are expected this year.
Families can receive free backpacks, school supplies and books while supplies last. Other offerings include free food, games, activities, giveaways, help with 2026-27 school registration, an immunization clinic, vehicle exploration, literacy activities and visits from characters including Clifford the Big Red Dog, H-E-Buddy and Whataguy.
Attendee parking is available in the coliseum parking lot. Families should enter through the fairgrounds main entrance and proceed to the First Financial Pavilion.
The event is designed to remove barriers to learning by connecting families with tools and community support, organizers stated. For more information, visit www.saisd.org.
