San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Inducted Into Hall of Fame

SAN ANGELO, TX — Over the weekend, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association made the announcement in April that the San Angelo Rodeo would be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.

The San Angelo Rodeo has become one of the highest-paying rodeos in the ProRodeo Playoff Series, with nearly $800,000 in prize money, making it a must-attend stop for top cowboys and cowgirls.

It also hosts the San Angelo Xtreme Bulls, a major Division I event in the Rank 45 Xtreme Bulls Series, and the San Angelo Cinch Chute-Out, an all-star rodeo.

"I just want to say it's just been an incredible honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo. What a great day," Justin Jonas, the executive director of the San Angelo Rodeo, stated.

The 2026 ProRodeo Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held July 18 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

"Whether they wore a contestant number, bucked stock, called the action, or entertained the crowds, each member of the 2026 ProRodeo Hall of Fame class carries a special connection to the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo," the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo stated on its Facebook page.

The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo began as an idea in 1932 to promote growth and lift spirits during the Great Depression, but it has now become a cornerstone of the Texas Swing on the PRCA circuit.

"This honor forever marks our place in rodeo history, and we are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey," the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo stated.
