Sutton County Wildfire Contained After Burning Nearly 1,400 Acres

 

SONORA, TX — A wildfire south of Sonora was contained after burning approximately 1,376 acres, according to Sutton County Emergency Management.

The blaze, named the Cusenbary Draw Fire, reportedly began Thursday on a ranch about 10 miles south of Sonora.

The fire was worsened by 100-degree heat and high winds. 

Firefighters began to take control of the blaze Saturday, and it was announced early Sunday by Sutton County Emergency Management that it had been 100% contained.
