SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo ISD is offering a variety of summer programs designed to support student learning, growth and successful transitions into the upcoming school year.
"From academic support and credit recovery to jump-start programs and specialized services, these opportunities help students stay engaged and future-ready throughout the summer months," information from the school district states. "These summer opportunities reflect San Angelo ISD’s continued commitment to supporting the whole child and celebrating all the ways our students are SMART."
Below is a list of school opportunities beginning with Elementary:
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
Elementary Summer School
July 8–23 | Held at Bowie and Reagan Elementary Schools
This summer instruction is for students entering second and fifth grade and includes direct instruction in reading and math. Students attend Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Specialized Reading Intervention
July 8–23 | For Belaire and Goliad Elementary Schools, held at Reagan Elementary School
This summer reading intervention program supports students entering first grade from Belaire and Goliad Elementary Schools and focuses on direct reading instruction. Students attend Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Emergent Bilingual Elementary Summer School
July 6–30 | Held at Reagan Elementary School
This program serves emergent bilingual students entering Kindergarten and first grade. Students attend Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and receive focused instruction designed to support language development and academic success.
Elementary INspire Summer School
July 8–23 | Held at Bowie Elementary School
The INspire Summer School program supports students receiving special education services based on individualized needs determined by the ARD committee. Students attend Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Elementary Extended School Year (ESY)
July 13–24 | Held at Reagan Elementary School
During San Angelo ISD's Extended School Year (ESY), their trained special education teachers and support staff are "dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential." SAISD will provide a "supportive and inclusive environment that fosters academic and personal growth," according to the school district.
ESY services are individualized instructional programs for eligible students with disabilities that are provided beyond the regular school year.
The need for ESY services is determined individually by the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee based on the child's specific and unique needs and goals. ESY is not the same as traditional Summer School. ESY services are specially designed to help students with disabilities maintain the progress they have made during the school year. Students attend Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
San Angelo ISD Kindergarten Jump Start
July 16, 17, 20 and 21 | Held at Bowie, Glenmore, Goliad and Reagan Elementary Schools
SAISD’s Kindergarten Jump Start program helps incoming Kindergarten students become familiar with classroom routines and school expectations before the first day of school. Preference will be given to those with no prior school experience. Parents will be notified of enrollment or waitlist in June. Students attend from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Students who will attend Bonham, Bradford, Fannin, Goliad, Holiman or Reagan Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year will attend Jump Start at Goliad Elementary School. To register, complete this form.
Students who will attend Belaire, Bowie, Crockett, Fort Concho, Glenmore, Lamar, McGill or Santa Rita Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year will attend Jump Start at Glenmore Elementary School. To register, complete this form.
MIDDLE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
San Angelo ISD Middle School Jump Start
Held at Glenn, Lincoln and Lone Star Middle Schools
SAISD’s Middle School Jump Start program gives incoming sixth-grade students an opportunity to become familiar with middle school expectations and routines to help make the transition successful. Students attend one of three available sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

HIGH SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
High School Summer School STEM and Humanities
Held at San Angelo ISD Oakes Campus
This summer program is designed for students needing small group instruction and support in humanities and/or STEM courses to prepare for End-of-Course (EOC) exam retesting. Students attend from 8 a.m. to noon.

- Session 2: June 17–18 and 22–24 for Lake View High School students

Summer Credit Recovery

INspire Secondary Special Education
Extended School Year (ESY) services for secondary INspire students are determined individually by the ARD committee based on student needs and goals.
PRE-K – 12 SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
Summer Meals Program
In addition to summer learning opportunities, San Angelo ISD will once again offer free healthy meals for children and teens ages 18 and younger through the Summer Meals Program. Breakfast and lunch will be available at participating sites throughout the summer at no cost. A complete list of serving sites, dates and times can be found on the Summer Meals Program website. Dates and times vary by location. All locations are dine-in service only – no grab-and-go service.
SAISD Summer Athletic Camps
San Angelo ISD coaches and staff will host a variety of summer athletic camps for elementary through high school students. Camps include opportunities in baseball, soccer, swimming, tennis, gymnastics, basketball, softball, volleyball and football. Registration fees and schedules vary by camp.
