Fire Prompts Road Closure on North Chadbourne Street

SAN ANGELO, TX — A house fire at Ninth and North Chadbourne streets prompted police to close a section of the road between Eighth and 10th streets Thursday afternoon.

The San Angelo Police Department advised drivers to avoid the area around 2:30 p.m., citing fire and police activity. Both northbound and southbound lanes were shut down.

Photos from the scene showed firefighters spraying water on a burning structure, with thick black smoke rising into the air.

The fire appeared to impact nearby utilities. An AEP Texas outage map indicated a power disruption affecting three customers in the area, starting at 2:14 p.m. Crews were assessing the issue, with power expected to be restored by 5 p.m. No information was immediately available on the cause of the fire or any injuries.
