City Honors 2025 Employees of the Year

SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo recognized employees during its 2025 Employee Appreciation Luncheon held Feb. 19 at the McNease Convention Center. This event celebrates the hard work, dedication and excellence of City employees who go above and beyond in their service to the community.

Employee of the Year

The 2025 Employee of the Year award was presented to Building Permits Clerk Annette Garza. Garza has been a key member of the Development Services Department, recognized for her reliability and consistent performance. She played a significant role in the department’s software transition by helping maintain an efficient and organized inspection process. In addition, her communication and coordination have helped reduce delays and confusion for staff and citizens. Her contributions highlight her vital role in the department’s overall success.

Up-and-Coming Employee of the Year

The City also awarded the new Up-and-Coming Employee of the Year to Deputy Fire Marshal Eric Martinson. In his position, Martinson developed new standard operating guidelines that helped the Fire Marshal’s Office pass its state audit. He also spearheaded a series of fire prevention safety videos for the public and created a field training officer program that significantly improved investigator training. During the July 4
