SAN ANGELO, TX — A GoFundMe has been created to help the family of a Wall High School student who will soon undergo brain surgery.
"Mason Plummer is a high school student athlete at Wall ISD," according to the GoFundMe. "He plays basketball and baseball. He was diagnosed with Cavernous Malformation in 2021.
"The Plummers met with Boston’s Children’s on Jan. 20, 2026. Mason’s December MRI showed his cavernoma grew again in a short amount of time. The medical team talked in length of his past scans and ultimately the decision was made that Mason would have to have surgery.
"Mason will undergo brain surgery on his right frontal lobe. They are incredibly grateful to have Dr. Smith — a leading expert in Cavernous Malformations at Boston’s Children’s — performing the surgery. While the news has been heartbreaking for their family, they are holding onto their faith, that Mason can make a full recovery and be back on the court for his senior year.
"We want to help the Plummer family as they go through the unimaginable a second time with another child. Their daughter, Meleah, had multiple brain surgeries in 2022. They will need flights from Texas to Boston, lodging while in Boston and we hope to help after they come home for Mason’s rehab and recovery.
"We want to help ease the financial burden as they walk this journey.
If you aren’t able to donate, please continue to share their story and keep Mason in your prayers. We believe in the power of prayer! We believe in miracles!

As of Feb. 6, 2026, the GoFundMe had raised $2,940 of a $5,000 goal. You can donate by CLICKING HERE.
