Goodfellow AFB Mission-Essential-Only Status Extended to Tuesday

SAN ANGELO, TX — Goodfellow Air Force Base will continue mission-essential personnel only operations on Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to inclement weather and forecasted hazardous road conditions.

All programs, events, and activities are canceled for the day. Unlike previous days, the Base Exchange, commissary, and Western Winds dining facility will all remain open.

In an email sent to local media Monday afternoon, 17th Training Wing Public Affairs requested assistance in disseminating the update.

The message stated: “Due to inclement weather and forecasted road conditions, Goodfellow AFB will be mission essential personnel only; programs, events, and activities are cancelled. The BX, Commissary, and Western Winds Dining Facility remain open.”

The base has operated under restricted status since Saturday, Jan. 24, with previous announcements closing the BX and commissary while keeping the dining facility open. A prior addendum had closed the North Gate, but the latest update did not mention gate restrictions.
