SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office has announced visitation and memorial service details for Precinct 2 Commissioner Sammy Farmer, who passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The Sheriff's Office paid tribute to Farmer, describing him as a strong Christian, proud American, and dedicated public servant who poured his time, energy, and heart into serving the people of Tom Green County.
"His leadership, integrity, and commitment to Tom Green County have made a lasting impact that will not be forgotten," the post read. "Beyond his service, we will miss his easy smile, kind words, and his friendship. We will remember him for his humility, kindness, and the genuine care he had for those in his community. Thank you, Sammy — we will miss you, rest easy, and know we have got it from here."
Farmer served as Precinct 2 Commissioner since 2019. Before his time in office, he worked more than 30 years at M.L. Leddy's Boots & Saddlery, retiring in June 2024.
The Sheriff's Office extended thoughts and prayers to Farmer's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
Service Details:
Visitation: Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 90 E. 14th St., San Angelo.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church.
