Fort Concho Starts Free American Revolution Lecture Series

SAN ANGELO, TX - Fort Concho, in partnership with the Dr. Arnoldo De León Department of History at Angelo State University, will host the first of monthly talks as part of a public program series on the American Revolution to highlight our nation’s 250th anniversary.

Dr. Kenna Archer, associate professor at ASU, will present “Writing an Origin Story, The American Revolution and the ‘Cause of all Mankind,’” on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m. in the Fort’s Commissary Building at Henry O. Flipper Street near Burgess Street.

Archer’s presentation will explore the causes of the American Revolution and the incidents and developments that persuaded many colonists to support a war for independence.

The program is free to all and there will be light refreshments.
