SAN ANGELO, TX — Through the Spirit of Giving Fund, H-E-B provided $50 gift cards to every San Angelo ISD employee, a donation that totaled more than $102,000.
“H-E-B holds compassion and strength for our fellow Texans,” said H-E-B Senior Manager of Public Affairs Jessicka Gonzales. “This year has been difficult for so many. That’s why we’re proud to offer extra relief during the holiday season.”
The H-E-B Spirit of Giving Fund was established to assist communities and individuals during times of crisis, particularly following natural disasters and unforeseen hardships.
In response to the significant flooding that impacted the San Angelo community on July 4, H-E-B extended support to the SAISD team — especially those who experienced direct loss or disruption as a result of the flooding.
“Being reminded that your community sees you and supports you means everything, especially during the holidays,” said Shannon Schwartz, Executive Director of Communications for San Angelo ISD. “H-E-B’s generosity was an incredible surprise for our staff and a powerful show of care, especially for our team members who were impacted by the July flooding. We’re incredibly grateful to H-E-B and the Spirit of Giving Fund for showing up for our schools and for the city of San Angelo.”
