SAN ANGELO, TX — A Veterans Day ceremony honoring local service members will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Section of Fairmount Cemetery, 1120 W. Avenue N. The event is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will feature performances by the Central High School Junior ROTC, ceremonial salutes by Fort Concho, and musical performances by Chris Morgan, Andrea Thompson, and Dorothy Douthit. Police Chief Travis Griffith and Sheriff Nick Hanna are also scheduled to appear.
City Offices and Services
City offices in San Angelo will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Offices will reopen Wednesday, Nov. 12, according to the City of San Angelo.
Garbage collection and landfill operations will continue as normal.
Fort Concho, including the Barracks 1 Visitor Center, will remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for self-guided tours. Veterans and their families will receive free admission.
