ASU Percussion Ensemble to Perform ‘Glimmer’ Concert in Newly Renovated Auditorium

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Percussion Ensemble will present its annual fall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in ASU's Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium inside the Mayer Administration Building at 2601 W. Ave. N.

Titled "Glimmer," the concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Audiences of all ages are invited to experience an unforgettable evening of rhythm, color and energy in the Percussion Ensemble's first performance in ASU's renovated auditorium.

The musical program features a wide spectrum of works that highlight the versatility and artistry of percussion music, from contemporary compositions to classic ragtime, including:

• "Morning Prayer" by Tomas Svoboda
• "Fear Cage" by Kirk Gay
• "Disguised" by Clif Walker
• "Xylophone Rag" by George Hamilton
• "Glimmer" by Ivan Trevino
• "Dance of the Drums" by Gene Koshinski

Directed by Dr. Trent Shuey, ASU assistant director of bands, the ASU Percussion Ensemble is dedicated to exploring the vast array of percussive music, spanning traditional and contemporary styles. The ensemble performs regularly on campus and in the community, providing students with a platform to develop their skills and share their passion for music with a wide audience.
