SAN ANGELO, TX — More than $1.65 million was raised during the Scottish Rite for Children’s 26th Annual San Angelo Sporting Clay Shoot on Oct. 11, the organization announced Wednesday.
The money will directly fund patient care, treatment, and Scottish Rite research initiatives.
The event began in 1998 as a way to raise money and awareness for Scottish Rite’s impact in West Texas.
More than 500 individuals participated in this year’s event to help support Scottish Rite’s important work in children’s pediatric orthopedic care.
“Our mission has always been to give children back their childhood, and the generous support from local organizations like Invenergy means that Scottish Rite can provide world-class pediatric orthopedic care for children regardless of a family’s ability to pay,” said Robert L. Walker, President and CEO of Scottish Rite for Children. “Our work remains possible thanks to our supporters, and we’re grateful for the friends, family and local leaders whose participation in the shoot year after year continues to raise awareness and funding for critical research and care.”
Invenergy, America’s largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of clean energy solutions, has participated in the shoot for almost a decade. Sixty representatives from Invenergy projects across the region fielded eight teams this year and contributed nearly $20,000 in donations that directly support Scottish Rite’s mission to deliver orthopedic care to Texas children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
“Supporting Scottish Rite through their annual San Angelo Sporting Clay Shoot allows our staff to give back to the communities we call home, and further our mission to invest in West Texas,” said John Judd, Operations & Maintenance Manager, Invenergy. “For nearly a decade, Invenergy has been proud to support Scottish Rite for Children’s powerful mission, and it brings our teams a great amount of pride to know their participation in this event directly benefits research, care, and better health outcomes for the children of this region.”
