SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas students can apply to public colleges and universities across the state for free this week as part of Texas Free College Application Week, which runs October 13–19, 2025.
During the week, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is waiving all application fees for first-year and transfer applicants who apply through the ApplyTexas system. The initiative, themed “One Week, Zero Fees,” aims to remove financial barriers and encourage more students to pursue higher education opportunities.
All Texas residents are eligible to apply to any public college or university without paying the usual application fee. The program is open to both first-time college students and those transferring from other institutions.
Officials said the effort is designed to increase access and affordability for students, especially as college costs continue to rise. Students are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline on October 19 to take advantage of the waiver.
More information and applications can be found at ApplyTexas.org.
