‘Pink Out the Firehouse’ to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Support

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Office of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health (LWBIWH) and the Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria and Taproom will host their eighth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Profit Share fundraising event on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the restaurant location at 200 S. Magdalen St.

Titled "Pink Out the Firehouse," this year's Profit Share will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will feature the Old Central Firehouse donating 10% of all profits made during that time to the LWBIWH.

Additionally, an accompanying online Silent Auction is now open and will run to the end of the Profit Share event on Oct. 16. The online auction features 70 items donated by a wide variety of local businesses and civic groups, including:

  • Bare Beauty Photography
  • Legend Jewelers
  • The Waterford Wellness Spa
  • Free Rein Coffee
  • Elite Physique
  • Jey's Saddlery
  • Gandy Ink
  • Shannon Health Club
  • Multiple restaurants
  • Many others

All proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the LWBIWH's Team Pink initiative, which serves those undergoing breast cancer treatment in San Angelo by helping them purchase essential items needed while receiving chemotherapy and radiation.

Since its inception in 2010, the ASU Office of the LWBIWH has promoted women's health in the Concho Valley through scientific investigation, translation of science into practice, and providing outreach and services that directly impact the community.
