New Sheep to be Unveiled at Santa Rita Elementary

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo’s newest fiberglass sheep will be revealed to the public next week at Santa Rita Elementary School.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the school at 615 S. Madison St.

The sheep is part of Downtown San Angelo Inc.’s Sheeptacular fundraising art project, which now includes about 150 sheep around the city.

According to a release from San Angelo ISD, the Santa Rita sheep was made possible by Santa Rita Elementary students, Santa Rita’s Journalism Club, Maddie Deremo’s decorating contest and fundraising, alumna Ashley Perales with Pop of Color for painting the winning design, and Larry Blasingame with Concho Valley Brick and Stone for donating the rock base.
