SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo ISD will host its 2nd Annual San Angelo READS! & United We Read Back-to-School Pop-Up Event on Friday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CRC Roofers Coliseum.
The free event will feature school supplies, backpacks, books, food and activities for families. The first 300 children will receive free Kona Ice. More than 70 community partners will participate, and local mascots and characters will greet attendees.
An immunization clinic will be offered in partnership with Shannon Medical Center for students in kindergarten through 12th grade to receive state-required vaccines, including Hepatitis A, MMR, varicella, DTaP, Tdap, meningococcal, Bexsero and polio. A parent or guardian must accompany students ages 5–17 and provide consent. Families should bring picture IDs, student shot records and insurance cards. No payment is required at the event.

The clinic will be staffed by Shannon Medical Center personnel. Immunization records will be updated the day of the event, and picture ID will be required to receive vaccines.
