SAN ANGELO, TX — Two San Angelo educators have been recognized with top regional honors by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) for their leadership, vision, and commitment to student success.
Dr. Sarah Grace Hernandez, principal of Texas Leadership of San Angelo High School, has been named the 2025 TASSP Region 15 Outstanding Principal of the Year. She was selected by her peers for her exemplary performance, visionary leadership, and dedication to both students and staff. Dr. Hernandez, who joined the TLCA team in 2023, now advances as a contender for Texas Principal of the Year.
“My vision is to continuously work to serve the scholars in our community and to help mold them into tomorrow’s leaders,” Hernandez said. “This can only begin by first serving and supporting the educators who devote and sacrifice countless hours to serving our scholars.”
Hernandez holds degrees from Hardin–Simmons University and Angelo State University and has over 16 years of experience in campus administration.
Crystal King, assistant principal at Central High School, was named the 2025 TASSP Region 15 Assistant Principal of the Year. King has served in her current role for two years and brings 24 years of experience in education. She was recognized for her consistent efforts to build a positive campus culture and support long-term school improvement.
“Crystal King is one of our very best and Central High School is fortunate to have her in a leadership role,” said San Angelo ISD Superintendent Dr. Christopher Moran. “San Angelo ISD is extremely proud of Mrs. King.”
Central Principal Jill Ross praised King’s ability to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where both students and staff feel valued and empowered.
"Mrs. King demonstrates unwavering kindness and dedication to the students at Central High School," Ross said. "She creates a nurturing and inclusive environment where every learner and staff member feels valued and supported. She uplifts and empowers those around her and is a cornerstone of our administrative team. This recognition is a testament to the profound impact she makes at Central High School."
