Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office Kicks Off Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with Texas Roadhouse and Special Olympics Texas this week for the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser, an annual event supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Law enforcement officers will be at the Texas Roadhouse at 3057 W. Loop 306 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 21, 22 and 24, helping serve guests and collecting donations for Special Olympics Texas.

The effort is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), a year-round initiative that funds training and athletic competitions for Special Olympics participants across the state. Officers from the sheriff’s office will be working alongside restaurant staff during the dinner rush, encouraging diners to tip for the cause.

Organizers say they have a high fundraising goal this year and are aiming to top last year’s total and outpace other cities in the region.

Donations also can be made online at www.sotx.org/tip-a-cop.
