SAN ANGELO, TX — A flood watch will be in effect for much of the Concho Valley this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The flood watch will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday and run through 1 p.m. Sunday.
Storms will have heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding. The most likely rainfall amounts will be in the range of 1-5 inches, but isolated areas could see amounts nearing 8 inches, the NWS stated.
The affected Concho Valley counties include Tom Green, Irion, Crockett, Schleicher, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, McCulloch, Menard, Glasscock, Reagan and Coleman.
Storms are expected to move into the Big Country as early as Saturday afternoon and then expand south overnight.
