Parts of San Angelo State Park Reopen After Flooding, Caution Urged

SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo State Park has partially reopened after recent flooding, though officials are warning visitors to exercise caution due to displaced wildlife, snakes, and biting or stinging insects.

Texas Parks and Wildlife advised that entering O.C. Fisher Lake is not recommended because of significant debris and ongoing inflow from the North Concho River.

Areas open to the public include the south side of the park, covering Red Arroyo, Isabel Harte and Lakeview Day-use areas, Riverbend Campgrounds, and trails south of Burkett, though those trails may be muddy.

Trails north of Burkett remain closed, along with the Bald Eagle and North Concho campgrounds.
