San Angelo Troopers Win Top Honors at Texas Police Games Bass Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Retired Trooper Franklin and Trooper Manes from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s West Texas Region earned first place in the fishing portion of the Texas Police Games, reeling in a total of 29.66 pounds at Lake Lyndon B. Johnson

The two-person team claimed overall first in the tournament and secured a silver finish for "Big Bass."

The competition was held June 19–20 at Valentine Lakeside Resort in Kingsland, Texas. 

The Texas Police Games, organized by the Texas Police Athletic Federation, draw competitors from across the state and beyond. Eligible participants include full-time and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, correctional officers, first responders, and active or veteran military personnel.

More than just a sporting event, the Games are designed to build camaraderie among public safety professionals and promote physical fitness and teamwork.
