San Angelo Community Band Continues Summer Concert Series

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Community Band will continue its 2025 Summer Concert Series with a free performance Monday, June 16, at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church.

The concert, titled “Serenades, Syncopation and Sousa,” will begin at 7 p.m. in the church’s Life Center, located at 4522 College Hills Blvd. It will be conducted by Dr. Constance Kelley of the Angelo State University music faculty.

The program will feature works by composers Morton Gould, John Philip Sousa, Leroy Anderson, Henry Fillmore and Jan van der Roost. Selections include:

  • “American Salute”

  • “Bullets & Bayonets”

  • “Serenata”

  • “Syncopated Clock”

  • “Americans We”

  • “Canterbury Chorale”

  • “Stars and Stripes Forever”

Now in its 36th year, the band is composed of more than 50 musicians from across the region, including ASU students, faculty and staff, public school music educators, and community members.

The next concert in the series is scheduled for July 3 during the annual Star-Spangled Banner Concert at the San Angelo RiverStage.
