‘No Kings’ Protest Set to Dethrone Trump in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — A volunteer-organized protest is scheduled to take place at Civic League Park in San Angelo on Saturday, June 14, as part of a nationwide day of action called “NO KINGS,” aimed at opposing what organizers describe as authoritarianism and political corruption.

The local event will run from noon to 2 p.m. and is one of numerous protests being held across the country. According to organizers, the demonstration is a response to policies and actions by President Donald Trump and his allies, which they allege have undermined democratic norms and civil liberties.

The campaign’s messaging emphasizes opposition to what it characterizes as the consolidation of power, stating, “In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.” Event literature criticizes Trump for actions they claim include suppressing free speech, targeting political opponents, and disregarding judicial authority.

Protesters plan to gather “everywhere he isn’t,” according to the national call to action, under the slogan “No thrones, no crowns, no kings.”

Organizers stress that the protest is intended to be nonviolent. A statement on the event page says, “A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.”

More information about the protest can be found at nokings.org.

Sounds gay, but that's to be expected from that side of the political field.

Democrats suddenly oppose alleged authoritarian overreach and perceived corruption when it's supposedly Trump doing it. If Trump held a national drag show, team Blue would organize behind "TERFs Against Tyranny."

Additionally, the fact that there is undoubtedly foreign interference involved in these kinds of protests will fly over the heads of average citizens and under the radar of strategically placed authorities. As per usual, we are all, always and ultimately, responsible for our own safety...
