Local Fundraiser Launched for Woman Severely Burned in Electrical Wire Incident

SAN ANGELO, TX — A local fundraiser is underway to support Alexandria Golding, who is recovering from severe burns after a freak electrical accident on Saturday, February 15.

According to a GoFundMe campaign organized by San Angelo resident Alisha Bell, Golding was standing near a car when a street electrical wire unexpectedly snapped. The electricity reportedly entered through her feet and exited her chest, setting her body on fire.

Golding was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and later flown to a specialized burn unit. She is currently being treated for second- and third-degree burns and is expected to undergo numerous skin grafts and an extended period of rehabilitation.

As of Monday, the campaign had raised more than $11,000 of its $13,000 goal. All proceeds will go toward covering Golding’s medical expenses and recovery-related costs.

Bell described Golding as “a very strong and courageous woman” and asked for prayers and community support during her healing process.
